Following a decision by Peter Munya to join NASA, Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has termed the act 'political suicide'.

However, the Meru governor stated that the move did not surprise him as Munya had been seen campaigning for the opposition.

"We are not surprised Munya has joined NASA today. Even during the campaigns, we told Meru people he was secretly in NASA. He was the sixth principal after former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto," Kiraitu said as reported by The Star.

Kiraitu also believes that Munya indicated his political association since Meru was a Jubilee zone.

"He knew backing Raila [Odinga] will be suicidal to him but by doing so today he has committed political suicide. No people of Meru are going to support him now and in the future. This is not a coincidence. They knew what they were doing, they knew Munya was one of them," he said.

Munya, the former Meru Governor, has opted to join the opposition party and help them campaign in Central.

"I am now in NASA and we shall fight together for change and transformation of this great nation," Munya said.

"The Supreme Court ruled that IEBC mismanaged the election, you can be sure they did not only mismanage the presidential election. Soon you will see I am not the only cannon fodder of their game."
