[Photo|Kiraitu Murungi]On Monday evening, Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and his Deputy Titus Ntuchiu issued a press briefing, in regards to Peter Munya's announcement that he had joined NASA.Munya who lost to Kiraitu in the August 8 polls, joined Nasa, and pledged to support the team, in clinching presidency in the second round of presidential election in October 17.He also vowed to petition Kiraitu's election, saying he rigged him out.However, Kiraitu dismissed him, saying: "Indeed we have been vindicated. My team reiterated during the campaigns that Munya was the face of NASA in Meru, allegations that he disputed on numerous occassions, but today he has confirmed his true political stand."As governor he stated categorically that Munya's involvement with the opposition would have zero impact in Meru and that Meru people would vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection overwhelmingly."My deputy and I are also ready to face Peter Munya in court following his decision to challenge my election as Governor of Meru," he said.
