Kirinyaga County gubernatorial hopeful Anne Waiguru has exuded confidence in clinching the seat come 2017 polls.
The former Devolution Cabinet Secretary will square it out with Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and incumbent Governor Joseph Ndathi for the coveted post.
Deputy President William Ruto, during Jubilee's recent rally in the region, introduced the three aspirants and gave them an opportunity to address the locals.
However, the residents booed Governor Ndathi, forcing him to cut short his address.
“The warm reception I received from the people of Kirinyaga on Tuesday is evidence that they have confidence in me and my track record,” said Waiguru in a statement on Wednesday.
Waiguru said the people of Kirinyaga had decided she will be their next governor.
The former CS has been at the center of the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal, in which the taxpayer is estimated to have lost Sh1.67 billion.
She has, however, denied involvement in the scam.
