Kisauni Member of Parliament Mr Rashid Bedzimba has denied claims of funding criminal gangs in the county.
This comes after local security apparatus linked the sprouting criminal gangs in Mombasa County to local politics.
Bedzimba challenged and dared anyone with evidence linking him to the Wakili Kwanza and Wakali Wao gangs to come forward.
“I have never funded any gangs in Mombasa as the move will not benefit me in any way. I will take legal action against anybody who will me link to such criminal gangs,” said Bedzimba.
A Mombasa-based business man, Mr Ali Mbogo, on Monday accused the Kisauni legislator of funding the gangs that have been terrorising local residents.
Mr Mbogo made the claims linking Bedzimba to the criminal gangs after he was attacked by knife-wielding youth.
However, Mr Bedzimba denied the allegations terming them as careless, untrue and misleading.
