Bedzimba who was speaking at his Kisauni Office on Tuesday, said the kitty had helped in developing community projects under the watch of the MPs, and thus should not be tampered with.

“CDF should be managed by MPs because they are the ones who are near their constituents. Some governors are not even accessible so how will people access the fund,” said Bedzimba.

Majority of legislatures in the country have registered their discomfort with the funds being put under the watch of the county bosses, saying it was their only means of ensuring development projects are fully undertaken in their respective constituencies.

The National treasury in its earlier budget had proposed to shift the CDF allocation, saying all county funds were supposed to be managed by governors.
