Kisauni Member of Parliament Ali Mbogo has said that through his own education campaign initiative launched since 2013, the number of students reporting to Form One in various schools in the constituency has tremendously increased.
Mbogo said that most of the schools he visited after the two week efforts parents were responding well taking their children to various schools for their secondary education.
According to Mbogo, after learning that there was low form one reporting in his constituency he moved quickly to establish where the problem was and promised to source for more funds to ensure that children from poor families are in school.
He said that through ‘Elimu kwanza’ education programme, levels of education in Kisauni constituency were rising to a promising level compared to the past years.
“I launched the ‘Elimu kwanza’ program in 2013 and I could not wait until am given direction by the Acting education Cabinet secretary Doctor Fred Matiang’i, we have been conducting education campaign awareness activities all along,” he said.
According to the Kisauni Member of Parliament, Marimani mixed Secondary school in Mwakirunge had only 20 students who had reported to form one and after a vigorous campaign in the area for the last two weeks over 80 students have so far been administered in the school.
“It all depends on how parents will embrace education and work together with their leaders, Kisauni is headed for positive change,” added Mbogo
He appealed to parents in Kisauni to work closely with him as he strives to improve the levels of education in the constituency.
Mbogo also asked head teachers in the constituency to understand the situation of some of the parents in the constituency and always involve him in case of any other challenges that will hinder children get education.
