Kisauni students in various secondary schools will benefit from bursaries and other sponsorship from the area Member of Parliament Ali Mbogo together with other well wishers.

Speaking at Shanzu within Kisauni constituency on Friday, Mbogo said that his leadership will focus more on education in the area since according to him education was the backbone of community growth.

Mbogo said that it was through education that social vices among them crime and drug abuse among the youth will be contained, and he called on parents to closely work with him so as to ensure children are at school.

Mbogo said that through the donations, most students who failed to join secondary school because of economic setbacks will be registered back into school and carry on with their education.

“I promised you that through our ‘Elimu kwanza’ programme Kisauni will change and that is what we are fulfilling now,” he told the parents after issuing cheques to 30 parents, a donation from Jaffar Foundation.

The Kisauni legislature said that more students from all the six wards of Mjambere, Shanzu, Mtopanga, Magogoni, Bamburi, Junda and Mwakirunge will benefit from school fees paid by him and other donors through ‘Elimu kwanza’ education programme.

“We are targeting 30 day school students in every ward within Kisauni constitution, and these students are those facing economic challenges and some have been forced to stay at home for lack of school fees,” he added.

Under the program, more 70 students will also be issued with school fees cheques next week in a bid to ensure that they continue with their secondary education.

Mbogo said that education matters should be taken seriously by political leaders and parents as well so that children in Kisauni become ambassadors of change in the future.
