According to the locals, and the area being a junction, it has many vehicles and people yet there are no safety measures put in place to avert accidents.

“Despite this area being crowded most of the time, motorists just maintain high speeds without any consideration, this means that something might happen anytime,” said Catherine Kioko a resident of Kisian.

According to the locals, their own efforts to erect bumps in the area have been hampered due to lack of the necessary materials and tools.

“We are organising ourselves and erected bumps using soil and mud but they never last for long, and now we are tired. We just want the relevant authorities to come in and do the necessary," said Ogolla Martin, another local.

The residents have faulted the initial contractors of the highway for not erecting bumps since they were aware that the area has many people and also schools around.

They are urging the county government to work with the national government and ensure the bumps are erected before any accidents do occur.
