Kisii County has collaborated with the national government to install streetlights which will enhance the County with 24 hrs Economy.

This comes few days after the Deputy President William Ruto visited the area and said that the national government has set funds through the ministry of energy in installing streetlights in Kisii county .

The Kisii county Governor James Ongwae has confirmed that they collaborated with the Kenya Power so that they can start the project.

Addressing the Media on Thursday at his office when he met Kenya Power officials Governor Ongwae said that the project which will cost Sh165 million will transform the county and improve its 24 hours economy.

The governor hailed the national government for the project by saying that his administration will keep supporting the initiative.

“The project will help us enhance our 24 hrs economy and we hope once the project is complete our business will be boosted," he said.

The Kenya Power's South Regional Manager David Mugambi said that they have started phase one of the project.

The areas which will benefit are Mwembe, Kisii university road, Daraja Moja to Joogoo, Nyamataro among other places.
