The sacco's CEO, Vincent Oigo, has disclosed that based on the business goodwill that the sacco has been enjoying from the communities of Kisii, Nyamira and Homa-Bay counties, where it has extensive branch networks. The management was consulting on the issue of designing a fund through which funds can be pooled for the sponsorship of vulnerable and bright children to pursue their education successfully.

Speaking in his office at the sacco's Kisii town Kahawa House headquarters, Oigo said there was need for such funds to appreciate the communities for supporting the sacco's business activities.

Oigo observed that the initiative will not only help the local community members' welfare but it will also strengthen the sacco's capital base through enhanced membership.

"It is a tradition the world over that investors give back to the society as an appreciation for the society members' support and patronage of the particular investor's products and services," stated Oigo.
