Speaking on Tuesday at Kisii Cathedral Okemwa said the affected teachers should not report to their new workplaces as ordered by TSC until proper consultation is done.

“The church is sponsoring secondary and primary schools and for such changes to take place the church must be aware but since TSC and the ministry of education didn’t consult the church, affected teachers are hereby advised not to report to new workplaces until we engage in talks,” he said.

Okemwa said he only got the information about the transfers from the media.

He said scrutiny and recheck of the marking of 2017 KCSE exams should be done to establish if there were any marking errors.

“Many students failed in 2017 KCSE exams. There is a need for the remarking of the exams to be done and correct any errors that could be the reason for the drop to enable the affected students to join their preferred courses,” he added.
