Nyakundi said that the ministry ought to have consulted them before reaching the decision to transfer teachers to its sponsored schools. He also said that they have no problem with heads of other religious denominations being transferred to Catholic schools. The vicar was responding to an incident in where parents barred Cardinal Otunga High School principal Dennis Muyendo from accessing office. Muyendo, a former head at St Ignatius Mukumu Boys, is expected to take over from Zachary Nyariki who was transferred to Kibabii in Bungoma County.“We are not opposed to the transfers but the spirit of the transfers. As key stakeholders, we should be consulted. We have teachers from other faiths heading our schools,” he said, as quoted by The Star. The ministry of Education issued 555 principals across the country with transfer letters in December, a move which has continued to elicit mixed reactions from different factions. Acting Education CS Fred Matiang’i has, however, maintained that he will not make a U-turn over the matter.Source: https://www.the-star.co.ke/news/2018/01/10/catholic-church-calls-for-consultation-before-transfers-of-heads-in_c1695153
