Speaking to HiviSasa.com during the opening on Wednesday, a number of students vowed to respect the rule of law and urged authorities to desist from acting in excesses.

They demanded that the county government renovate the Kisii-Nairobi road along the institution by building two more road bumps to control the reckless flow of traffic.

“We are law-abiding citizens and we promise to desist from acts of demonstrations and hooliganism when dealing with emerging issues. We will embrace dialogue in future since the days of demonstrations are long gone,” said Joseph Ongoto, a student leader.

“I want to reiterate that no one will henceforth be allowed to use uncouth means in solving problems. We would like to ask the county government to build more road bumps near the school to control fast flow of traffic for the sake of students and pedestrians,” added Evelyn Anyango.

The college was closed following skirmishes after angry students took to streets to demand justice after three workers were killed in a tragic road accident in which a police officer was accused of causing.
