County employees from Kisii planning to vie for political seats have been urged to resign by next month.
County Secretary Johnstone Ndege has said that employee with political ambitions should hand over their letters of resignation before February 7.
"Any public officer who intends to contest an election shall resign from a public office six months before the election," said Ndege.
According to Ndege, the directive is by the law as contained in Section 43 (5) of the election laws act.
Ndege will also be affected by the directive as since he plans to contest in the elections slated for August this year.
