Kisii County Lands Executive member Moses Onderi has warned those building kiosks in Kisii town without county governments permission.
Speaking on Thursday in Kisii town Onderi denied colluding with a section of traders who have erected kiosks, in Kisii town near Kemera petrol station, displacing those who had kiosks there before.
Onderi said that those who had started erecting the kiosks in the site were doing it illegally and at night.
He ordered them to demolish the kiosks before the county government does it.
He noted that the county government will have to approve people to build the kiosks but he was quick to note so far they have not approved anyone.
“The county government has not given approval to anyone to build kiosks at that site. They seem to have done it at night, and I order them to remove their materials before the county government comes in,” said Onderi.
Mary Onchoke, one of those who claim have been displaced, allege the county has neglected them. She accused the county government of distributing the kiosks unfairly to people who never even had stands in the site.
Responding to the grabbed lands that the county government was to repossess, the executive member confirmed they have identified them and submitted the report to the National Lands Commission and they are waiting for the response.
