According to Ibeno ward representative Alfred Makori who was present during the peaceful demonstration, he said that they had all agreed to ensure they protest against IEBC only to find that he was the only MCA on board.

“Almost eighty percent of MCAs in the area are associated to Cord and it was frustrating to see them boycott a peaceful demonstration that was held on Monday morning,” he added.

The MCA termed the boycott as a main sabotage to the parties affiliated to Cord and he called upon the secretariat to ensure that they take action against the MCAs who did not attend the demonstrations.

On the other hand, when I contacted some of the MCAs who sought anonymity they said they were all held up in a different meeting.

The demonstration took place in Kisii town on Monday evening where County leaders led by area Governor James Ongwae, Senator Chris Obure and Mary Otara (Women Rep) addressed Kisii county government workers and some Kisii residents who took part in a demonstration against the IEBC.
