The Kisii County government is set to expand feeder roads in the town, and more so those in the CBD for better business and ease transport.
According to Governor James Ongwae, they have already started to improve road infrastructure within Kisii Town to spur growth and attract investors to the area, who have shied away as a result of poor road network.
Governor Ongwae was speaking when he inspected various link roads that the county government has opened within Kisii town.
Flanked by CeC in charge of Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development Moses Onderi, Chief Officer Administration Patrick Lumumba and other senior officials, the Governor toured the roads to assess ongoing works, as he pledged to initiate more similar projects.
The backstreet roads that have so far been opened include the Gudka –Christamariane, Nakumatt – KTRH, Dados – Nyachae Flats, KMTC-Kisii and the RAM-Tuskys link roads.
Governor Ongwae said he is looking forward to improving the infrastructures that affect the community’s economy, and make sure that the county can economically sustain itself.
He asked the residents to be of support while they are in the process of upgrading the roads infrastructures, and promised to initiate more projects.
