Speaking at Itibo Girls Secondary school during the institution’s prize giving ceremony on Tuesday, Ongwae stressed that he is passionate about the education of children particularly the girl-child and they will receive a larger portion of the funds.

“There is an increasing number of girls in various institutions, therefore, it would be fair enough if we add more funds for them to get a quality education,” he added.

The county boss called upon all parents to support girls as there are more vulnerable compared to the boy-child.

“This is why we have started to support the girl-child education as the first step towards curbing this dangerous trend before we lose an entire generation,” he added.

He called upon all the needy students to ensure that they apply for the bursaries on time.
