Residents urgue that this will help them get more food for their livestock during dry seasons.

The Kisii County Veterinary Doctor, Enock Monda, said that the county has a potential to produce more milk to sell to other counties.

“We know that our county is blessed and we have a lot of resources and potential to change the lives of our farmers through dairy farming,” said Monda.

Speaking when he addressed livestock farmers in Kisii town, Monda also called on the livestock farmers to form self-help groups so that they can buy their livestock feeds at a much lower price.

“We want the county government to make feeds that we can buy during dry seasons. We also want granaries to store the animal feeds when in plenty,” notes Monda.

He also said that they have asked the county to build a factory that will be producing the animal feeds for the farmers.
