Speaking at Cultural Centre Hall in Kisii during the official handing over of cheques to women and youth groups by Devolution Minister, Anne Waiguru, Governor James Ongwae decried the widening gap of information flow to the financial groups, especially rural based youth and women groups, whom he said are prone to poor management of the government funds due to lack of financial and technical know-how.

“I will tour every sub-county with area MPs so that we can impart and give civic education to the existing youth and women groups so that they can make good use of the funds,” said Ogwae, as he appreciated the presence of Waiguru, who presided over the function.

Kitutu Chache Central Member of Parliament, Momoima Onyonka, who occasioned the function gave full support to the idea, expressing his willingness to work with the governor to ensure all Kisii residents are civically informed in financial matters.

Momoima, who initiated the idea, promised to ensure all Kisii MPs are supportive of the idea as a way of empowering the ordinary mwananchi for economic growth.
