The County Government of Kisii has revealed that they will start recognizing the heroes and heroines from the County.
Speaking at the Gusii sports stadium during the Madaraka day celebrations, Kisii Governor James Ongwae said that the county government has already initiated the process of recognizing the heroes and heroines.
He said that the Bill that was taken to the county assembly by his government is only awaiting approval by the county assembly of Kisii adding that the Bill will give directions on how the heroes and heroines shall be taken care of for the good work they did for the country and the county of Kisii.
“We have guidelines in the heroes and heroines Bill that will enable us to remember these great people, the heroes I have talked about today Morangi, Otenyo, Obworo and others. The Bill is shortly with the county assembly and we shall bring it out to the people for public scrutiny,” he said.
The governor said that the Bill shall be taken to the public to help the county government to properly identify the heroes and heroines in the county of Kisii.
Ongwae also said that county government plans to put up monuments in designated areas in the county once the Bill is approved by all the stakeholders.
