A 38 -year-old man was on Tuesday jailed for 15 years by a Kisii court for defiling a 16-year-old girl early this year.
Darius Oyaro was convicted by Kisii acting Principal Magistrate Douglas Nyairo of defiling the girl on March 2015 at Sengera village, Kisii County.
Oyaro is said to have intercepted the girl as she headed for school and after a few pleasantries turned to his phone and showed the girl pornographic movies.
He forcefully grabbed and dragged her into a nearby bush where he defiled her.
He later vanished from the scene while threatening her with unspecified consequences if she talked to anyone about the incident.
However, she confided in her mother after three days and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a 30 year old man was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of raping a 15-year-old girl.
Erick Onsarigo who appeared before the Kisii Senior Principal Magistrate Mathew Moranga committed the offence in April this year at Suneka Township.
The accused, who was driving, asked the girl for directions but when she entered the vehicle to show him the way, he diverted to a narrow path where he defiled her.
