Kisii Environmental and Lands court is set to dismiss cases that have been pending for more than 3 years, resident judge John Mutungi has said. 

According to Mutungi, there are more than 2,100 cases pending in the lands court as of February.

He said about 1,100 out of 2,133 cases will be dismissed after a thorough review because the involved parties had failed to show up for trial for more than 3 years.

Justice Mutungi argued that there is no need to keep the cases in court since they have piled up.
