Kisii County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi has asked criminal gangs in the county to surrender to the police.
According to the county boss, any criminal who surrenders will be forgiven.
"We want crime to end in the county and for that reason am asking anyone who has a criminal record to surrender before we get hold of them," he said.
Mr Kigochi called on parents whose children have been engaging in crime to advise them to surrender to the police.
"Parents should also join in this call so that we make Kisii County crime free. I assure them that noone will be taken to court for surrendering," he said.
He also said that police were now more vigilant to ensure that they get hold of criminals who have been giving locals sleepless nights.
He also warned police officers who have been liasing with brewers in the region that their days were numbered.
"Even chiefs will not be left out and they will pay for any criminal activities in their areas of jurisdiction," he said.
In the recent past Kisii County has seen an upsurge on matters related to crime.
