Speaking on Saturday during a fundraiser event at Getare Seventh Day Adventist church in Bomachoge Sub-County, Maangi said cattle rustling and boundary dispute are some of the causes of conflict in Rifty Valley.

Maangi called on area leaders to come out and talk to their communities on the need to stop conflicts.

“I ask the leaders; governors, senators, MPs and MCAs from the respectful counties to engage in dialogue to solve the impending issues that are causing conflict,” said Maangi.

At the same time he urged church leaders and believers to pray for the country..

“I ask the church to stand against odds in our country like conflicts based on clans and tribes, and terrorism activities by the Al Shabaab,” said Maangi.

Maangi was saying this amid conflicts among the residents of Baringo, Turkana and West Pokot counties, which has claimed about 100 lives.
