The provision of farmers' guide books on both on-line and county libraries is an initiative which is meant to benefit farmers in dealing with animal and plants related technicalities and how to get the best out their farming activities as a career.

Speaking to the press in Kisii town on Monday, the National Library Service chairman Samuel Nyangeso, expressed his desire to promote farming in Kisii county and Gusii region as a whole and urged farmers from the area to visit the libraries in every sub-county to read the agricultural books which were donated by his department.

Nyangeso also disclosed that the farming guidebooks can be accessed on the county website.

"Information is power and if only we embrace the culture of reading books we are set to proper, I therefore request all farmers and other willing member who have interest in farming to visit book centres and on-line platform to gain knowledge," Nyangeso said.

Nyangeso has been in 3-day tour in parts of Kisii providing books as he visited several schools and other learning institutions appealing to the residents of Kisii to embrace a culture of reading books which he regretted that it is gradually diminishing especially after one has completed studies.
