An ODM leadership meeting meant to bring elected members and top officials from Gusii region is in progress at Kisii Sports club with loyalty expected to take center stage.
Party’s national Treasurer Timothy Bosire is understood to be chairing the meeting that involves high profile leaders from the region as Cord leaders Raila Odinga prepares to visits the region later on Friday.
According to a source who spoke to the reporter on condition of anonymity, the leaders discussed the conducts of elected nominated members who are understood to be working closely with Jubilee government and whether or not their presence is welcome during the Friday’s rally.
“There is a meeting currently going on and virtually all ODM elected and nominated members plus party executives from Gusii are present. It’s being chaired by Timothy Bosire and the main agenda is to plan the coming of Cord leader Raila Odinga,” said the source.
“But the morning session was marred with a debate whether people who have been opposing the party’s stand will be allowed to be part of Friday’s rally or not,” added the source.
According to the source, a majority of the members who attended demanded that those who have openly defied the party’s stand to relinquish their positions in the party or face forceful eviction.
“I can confirm that majority of members agreed that those opposing the party’s stand to resign or face forceful eviction. It’s really stormy but we are waiting to see the outcome,” added the source.
The source also said that members also agreed to bury their local political differences to make Odinga’s tour a success.
