Ex-diplomat Dr Abel Kenyoru has tipped the County administration on the importance of embracing negotiation skills and international etiquette among members of the executive and the county assembly to position the County on the strategic position internationally, to attract more investments into the region.

Speaking in Kisii Town after the abortive two-day seminar for the members of the executive and the County Assembly in Kisii County, Kenyoru who is a consultant with East African Diplomatic consultants lamented that after assembling his team for the seminar, he was taken aback by those tasked by the Kisii County Governor James Ongwae to make arrangements for the seminar.

"I am surprised that, after drawing the seminar programme and muscled my consultants to train the County executive and Assembly members on international Diplomatic etiquette and project cycle management, those who were supposed to facilitate the training at County level resorted to shifting goal posts leading to the flop of this brilliant idea meant to take our County forward,” he regretted.

Had the seminar taken off as planned, Kenyoru disclosed, it would have put the county executive and assembly members far ahead in matters to do with international negotiations and diplomatic skills.

The career diplomat challenged Gusii leaders to stop reading too much politics when professional sons and daughters from the community plough back their professional skills and expertise for the benefit of their home county.
