The entrance of Kisii County Senator Chris Obure in the race to unseat the current Kisii county Governor James Ongwae has clearly turned the seat into a two horse race in 2017 a MCA has said.
According to Chitago MCA Albert Moinde the rest of the team who are looking into unseating the governor should keep their resources or eye other seats that they can easily clinch as for now there are only two serious candidates.
Speaking at Nyamarambe shopping center on Tuesday morning the MCA called upon the residents to vet all those who are contesting for public office to avoid electing leaders who can’t deliver.
“You all understand that some leaders want to the seat for their self-interest instead of delivering the public’s development agenda kindly vote wisely in the next general elections,” he added.
His comments come barely days after Senator Chris Obure was endorsed to run for the gubernatorial seat which seems to be crowded by a number of contestants.
