The Interior cabinet secretary, Dr. Fred Matiang'i, on Saturday warned criminals engaging in unlawful activities that they will definitely be apprehended. Dr. Matiang'i was specifically referring to suspected kidnappers who had kidnapped a pastor.
Pastor Esther Bochaberi has kidnapped from her Suneka home about a month ago and is yet to be found.
"I can assure you, you will run but you will not hide.What happened to the pastor around this place, and many more, we will get you," warned Dr. Matiang'i.
Speaking at Mongori high school in Borabu, the Interior minister promised to step up investigations that would lead to the apprehension of the kidnappers.
He also promised to incorporate a special unit to make sure that the matter is dealt with appropriately.
"We will step up the investigation on that matter. I have asked the director of CID that we bring a special unit to follow that matter," he added.
The cabinet secretary also promised to work jointly with the local leaders to bring to an end the issue of livestock theft in the county as well as in the country.
"We will make sure we bring to an end the issue of livestock theft once and for all. We will work together with all leaders including chiefs, assistant chiefs, and elders to make sure we get rid of cattle rustling not only in Borabu and Bomet but across the entire country," promised Dr. Matiang'i.
Houses believed to belong to the suspected kidnappers were last week set on fire by angry residents who accused security officials of dragging.
