According to County Lands Physical Planning and Urban Development Chief Officer, Zablon Ongori, the county has given the affected a two-week ultimatum to do that, or else they will take appropriate actions

In an interview in his office, Zablon added that the new Physical Development Plan’s implementation will kick off soon, and any grabbed land will be recovered to the county plans.

“It is a friendly notice so that those persons affected can bring the land back to the county since it is that time that the public land should be put into use and those who have the land can bring the documents so that we can check whether they acquired the land genuinely,” said Zablon.

He also added that the county government would consult with the County Land Management Board, to ensure owners of irregularly acquired land do not develop it, and to sensitise residents on the need to respect the law.

The county land office will also ensure proper execution of the approved plans, while developments on public utility land including bus parks and cemeteries will be pulled down without any compensation.
