On Wednesday, residents protested over the increased corruption cases at the Land's office.
Kisii County officer in charge of administration Geoffrey Mogire on Friday said the registrar identified as Mokaya should leave office to pave way for investigations.
Mogire said any public officials involved in graft must be probed before he or she continues to serve Kenyans.
“The law states very clearly that corruption is illegal. Any public servant involved in corruption must step aside for investigations to be done. I am calling on Mr. Mokaya, Kisii Land’s registrar to step aside to allow investigations be done following claims that he is colluding with land cartels in the processing of land documents,” said Mogire.
He added that residents should raise alarm and report to authorities any official engaging in corruption for legal action to be taken.
Mogire urged EACC officials not to favor anyone in the fight against graft.
