Kisii leaders have joined the world to condemn the Garissa attack, and condole the bereaved families of the incident, which left 147 people dead, while more than 100 others are still nursing bullet wounds, following the brutal attack at Garissa University on Thursday morning.

Governor James Ongwae and his Deputy Joash Maangi are among those who have condemned the incident, wishing the bereaved families warmth in these cold moments and those in hospitals successful, quick recovery.

“Am so much saddened by the Garissa massacre that has taken young and bright minds that had a great future to transform the country,” he said.

“I condemn the wild act and remember the families that have lost their loved ones and also wish those in hospitals quick recovery,” added Ongwae.

“Its unfortunate that we have lost promising individuals whom we had hoped would transform the country. Our security is at stake and we pray God to intervene,” said Maangi.

The suspected Al-Shabab millitants have since claimed responsibility of the massacre, which has left many shocked and worried.
