Kisii governor James Ongwae has promised to revitalize village polytechnics in the county to help the youths enroll and get empowered economically.
Speaking on Tuesday at Nyamondo polytechnic in Kitutu Chache south, Governor Ongwae said the polytechnics are important for the youths who miss an opportunity to enroll in Universities.
He with the area MP Richard Onyonka gave Sh3m to the polytechnic to help in building classrooms and buying equipment.
“My government is determined to see all village polytechnics across the county revived so that they can enable the youths who do not make it to college or University get an opportunity of getting empowered economically,” said Ongwae.
The governor also toured Nyaore polytechnic and promised to support it financially so that it can buy enough equipments and build more classrooms to improve service in the polytechnic.
Ongwae challenged other leaders to support him so that they can deliver to the electorate through improving services in village polytechnics and other sectors.
“We have a role to play to the electorate which is to better services in various sectors in our county. Therefore, I ask other leaders to support me so that we can jointly fulfill our pledges to the residents,” appealed governor Ongwae.
He inspected youth polytechnics, health facilities, ECDE Centers and markets in the constituency, and has promised to move across the County to inspect projects initiated by the County government.
