The residents were speaking on Monday at Kisii County's main market, Daraja Mbili and said samosa makers in the market should start different businesses because there will be no customers.

"Following the arrest of a man in Nakuru on Sunday who confessed that he has been skinning cats and selling their meat to samosa makers. I personally will not be consuming any samosa despite the fact that I have been eating them on a daily basis. Samosa sellers at Daraja Mbili are advised to either change business or vacate from the market because there will be no customers," said Millicent Nyaboke.

Agnes Nyabonyi, a trader said she has been taking the samosas but following the recent revelations on how samosa makers are using cats meat, she will not buy.

"I like eating the samosas sold in the market but from today, I will not waste my money buying cats meat being sold as samosas," she noted.

However, Duncan Nyabayo a samosa seller denied that samosa makers in the market have been using cat meat.

"I have never made samosas from cat meat. I only use soya beans, cooked Irish potatoes and rice. What happened in Nakuru should not be brought to Kisii," he said.
