Talented children in media production and music from Kisii County will this weekend showcase their prowess before getting full sponsorship to pursue their interests, a local MCA has said.
Speaking on Friday at Chatgo-Borabu ward, area MCA Albert Oino said the move will enable many children from Kisii County who have a talent in Media and music related fields to have a chance to record before being recommended to a professional trainer.
He said the program is intended to reach at least 200 children aged 15 years and below in all the nine sub counties from the region.
“I have a strong media and music background and that is why I want to help young people to specialise in the field. I have a recording studio but those who will excel will automatically get a chance to train with professionals in the field for the purpose of preparing them,” he said.
Oino who also chairs the Youth and Culture Committee in the Kisii County Assembly urge parents to let their children try their lack at Gusii Stadium this weekend.
“Any parent who is goal oriented is advised to bring any of their children with potential in the field for trial. This will open ways for children to have a chance to define their future rather than being subjected to something that they may not necessarily like,” he said.
