The MCAs say that they have confidence in the incumbent and his deputy Joash Maangi. Speaking at Riotero Primary School during the World Water Day celebration, the MCAs challenged those eyeing the governor seat to shun premature campaigns yet and support Ongwae to enhance development.

The MCAs led by Marani ward representative Dennis Ombachi challenged the elected leaders and asked them to focus on service delivery, adding that premature campaigns are divisive and divert attention from development.

“I want to ask these people that are already campaigning for the governor’s seat to come slow and they should know that we like the work our governor is doing and we shall add him five more years,” said Ombachi.

South Mugirango MP Manson Oyongo has however declared interest in the governor’s seat and has launched his campaign across the county, causing jittery and divisions among leaders.

Meanwhile, Ongwae has urged investors from Canada to partner with his government and promote industrial and agricultural development.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Roads Executive Skitter Ocharo, he said that the county needed investments in water, agriculture and industries.

Ocharo, who hosted Canadian investors, (the Better World Canada NGO)in her office, urged investors to venture into intensive farming and value addition to benefit locals. She said this was important as the land in the county was getting smaller by the day.
