The Orange Democratic Movement and people of Nyacheki ward have suffered a blow following the demise of their Member of County Assembly (MCA) Peter Nyaega Ongeri.
The Nyacheki ward, Bobasi Sub-County MCA passed on yesterday Monday, July 25 while undergoing treatment at a Nakuru hospital where he had been admitted.
Condoling with the family, Kisii Governor Ongwae said Nyacheki was a humble man who was always keen on bringing development to his people.
“My deepest condolences to the family, friends & colleagues of Hon. Peter Nyaega Ongeri MCA Nyacheki ward, Bobasi Sub County, Kisii. Hon. Nyaega passed on in Nakuru where he was rushed to hospital for medical attention on Monday evening. To the Nyaega family,ODM fraternity, his colleagues MCAs I say pole sana,” Ongwae said.
His brother Mark Ongeri also went to the social media to announce the demise and mourn the leader.
“With deep sorrow and regret, I mourn the death of my beloved brother the late Hon PETER NYAEGA ONGERI. He passed away peacefully in Nakuru yesterday. He was MCA in Kisii County. May the Lord rest his soul in peace until we meet again in heaven,” he said.
Ongeri's demise is a big blow to the ODM fraternity, coming at a time when former Prime Minister was relying on his remaining staunch men including Ongeri.
