Tong'i observed that, the trend of having security officers from one ethnic community controlling senior positions in the security ranks in a certain region compromises security,

This move leads to favoritism towards non-performing officers by their seniors who allegedly cover up their juniors' poor performance to the detriment of local residents' security.

Speaking at Gusii Stadium during the marking of this year's Madaraka Day celebrations, Tong'i commended the Government for its recent reshuffle of security officers, saying it has improved confidence by members of the public on the security agencies across the country.

The legislator said, staying of security officers in one station, led to poor delivery of services due to laxity, compromising the security situation in a given area.

"I commend the Government for its recent reshuffle of security officers who had overstayed in one station for a long period of time, leading to laxity in discharging their duties," Observed Tong'i
