Kisii county Members of parliament have been slammed for not attending Madaraka Day celebrations at Gusii stadium on Wednesday to celebrate with the public.
Speaking to journalist on Thursday in Kisii town, residents accused their leaders for ignoring the celebration at Gusii stadium and urged them to give the information on why they were missing in action.
William Mogere a resident from Nyaribari Chache constituency noted that it is an embarrassment when Kisii county MPs are not attending national celebrations and events organised by the county government.
“It is like our MPs are not in good terms with Kisii county leadership because we expected to see them for the celebrations but non attended the function,” said Mogere.
“We need them to tell us why they never attended the celebration, we were prepared to celebrate with them as electorates and for them to tell us their plans in developing our various constituencies but if they continue with the same behavior we are sorry in 2017 we wont vote them back,” said Patrick Oigara another resident
Kisii county has nine constituencies which translates to nine Mps who never attended Madaraka day celebrations at Gusii stadium.
