Muslim community from Kisii County has added their voice in the fight against terrorism.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday in Kisii town, the community leader Juma Musa hailed the government on its stand of maintaining Kenya Defence Forces in the war torn Somalia.
Musa faulted those demanding withdrawal of the forces from Somalia and urged the government to fight the outlawed sect till they surrender.
"I laud the government for its stand on the fight against terrorism; in particular, the Al Shabaab sect. Those calling for withdrawal of KDF from Somalia are misplaced and have no good will for Kenyans but to see the government falling,” said Musa.
He noted that Koran does not advocate killing people.
“Alshabaab terrorist group is only hiding in our religion to execute their mission, but the fact is that we do not have any links with them," said Musa.
"Al Shabaab is like Mungiki. They should therefore be fought with the same force used to fight mungiki,” added Musa.
The cleric further applaused the government for its initiative to erect a wall between Kenya and Somalia to enhance security.
"We support the government's decision to put a wall at the boarder line. This will deny assailants entry into Kenya hence, improved security," notes Musa.
