Yes Youth Can from Kisii and Nyamira counties have taken issue with the delegation led by Kisii Deputy governor Joash Maangi to Deputy President’s home in Eldoret.

According to the youths, the resources used by the delegation should have been used for other projects in the region.

“A lot of resources are being misused in our counties. The meeting is not important in any way to our economical but those who attended it had selfish interests,” argued Dennis Orioki, the Yes Youth Can president, Kisii County.

“In simple calculation, the delegation used more than Sh2 million. The money should have been used for developmental projects in our two counties,” his counterpart from Nyamira, Justus Maeche added.

The two were speaking when they were addressing the press on Friday in Kisii town.

Maangi led a delegation of a section of Kisii leaders to DP William Ruto’s home on Thursday for a courtesy call.

However, governor James Ongwae, senator Chris Obure and women rep Mary Otara among other leaders boycotted the meeting terming it political.

They said attending the meeting would be sacrificing the ODM party.
