Speaking to the press on Tuesday in Kisii town, Senator Chris Obure said that the ODM officials met at Ufanisi Resort and agreed to set aside their differences and also ensure that they support the county government in service delivery.

“The meeting, which I happened to chair concluded that all the officials should bury their differences and also that the party will soon embark on a grassroots programme whose main aim is to strengthen the party,” said Obure.

Obure further said that all the issues which had previously threatened the party in the county were all dealth with.

“We had called the meeting since it was very clear that there were big gaps which had emerged within the party officials, and it was of great importance if we dealt with such issues as early as possible. We want this party to be strong and also to deliver to the people,” added Obure.

The senator further mentioned that Kisii County Governor James Ongwae, his Deputy Joash Maangi, Women representative Mary Otara, County Assembly Speaker Kerosi Ondieki, MCAs together with other sub-county officials were all present during the meeting.

"We are preparing the party for the 2017 elections and as a measure to ensure that we have unity, we needed to settle all our differences,” added the senator.
