Parents who talked to this writer at Boigesa village said, they had been forced to hire home tutors for their children as part of keeping them active during the holiday since there will be no holiday coaching in schools.

"It is now necessary that we dip into our pockets to hire services of home tutors to ensure our children keep up with the spirit of their term one studies, instead of leaving them idling at home,"Stated Moffat Moindi,a parent of Sunrise Junior Academy in the area

Moindi laments that, banning of holiday coaching, has made payment for individual coaching at home costly compared to when parents would pay for the teachers as a group.

Jane Chanai,a parent at Eburi Primary School says, home coaching has the advantage of close attention between the tutor and learners, but,it is costly to find enough tutors for all the subjects cutting across classes of the learners in the family.

"You can have the money to hire the home tutors, but finding enough tutors for all the subjects per class of the children in the home is not an easy task as compared to when holiday coaching was done universally in schools,"Says Chanai.
