Parents led by Francis Nyarige speaking on Thursday at St. Peter’s Suneka secondary school in Kisii South said poor performance in last year’s KCPE and KCSE should be blamed on lazy and drunk teachers.

“Pupils and students didn’t perform well because the teachers with the responsibility to teach them are lazy. Some teachers are drug addicts and lazy. TSC should sack lazy teachers and replace them with new teachers who are ready to work,” said Nyarige.

Nyarige noted that most schools in Bonchari constituency performed poorly over the past years.

“2017 KCPE and KCSE candidates performed poorly yet in the previous years, schools in the region such as Itierio Boys, Gesero used to do very well,” he said.

The parents said teachers who have stayed for long in one school should be transferred to other schools to help improve performance.
