A former district commissioner and a politician for Nyaribari Masaba Kisii County has asked politicians from the larger Gusii region to channel their funds for building churches in the constituency.
Speaking at Ekerubo Adventist on Monday where he led a number of leaders both in public office and NGOs in a fund drive in aid to finish build the Adventist church, Hezekiel Ombaki said there is need to build our churches and take Godly matters serious before asking for any favor from Him.
“Let God be the first ever to work for before any other human being as He is the universe, knowing and fearing God is the beginning of wisdom thus we should right from early age start knowing and fearing Him for any future progress,” Machogu said.
He strongly condemned the issue of money influencing youths during campaigns saying the culture is out dated as of now youths needs long term projects that shall enable them feed themselves and their families.
He urged the community to work together as a team if they want to go far.
Dr. Onkarora Envans a Don in Maseno University also warned against the system of electing leaders in the community based on who is rich and who is poor.
“Let us as the community change and elect material and financial poor people who have the capacity to lead and not politicians due to their riches influence,’’ Dr. Onkarora warned.
More than Sh700,000 was raised to construct a church as the Christians have been worshiping under trees.
