The pupils, according to one of the teachers inthe school,Robert Ohanga who has been overseeing the children's initiative was meant to encourage vulnerable and orphaned childrten from the Daraja Mbili slums live a better life, especially those without any material support.

Speaking to this writer in the school during the donations,Ohanga disclosed that,he started the campaign of encouraging the school pupils support their peers who were vulnerable and orphaned through collection of second hand clothes and shoes.

"Since we startyed the campaign two years ago,our pupils have been able to collect second hand clothes and shoes from friends and well wishers and their personal donations towards assisting orphaned children and vulnerable cases from  the Daraja Mbili slums,"Stated Ohanga.

The initiative,he disclosed, has encouraged many orphans and vulnerable children from the slums enrol for primary education at the school due to continued moral and material support from their peers in the school.

Had not been for the school pupils' positive gesture towards their colleagues from the slums,Ohanga says, majority of those now rehabilitated from the slums to enrol for primary education in the school would have been either in the streets or wasted elsewhere in the slums.
