President Uhuru and Raila Odinga's unity speeches have elicited reactions among Kisii residents after the two leaders had a concession on Friday at Harambee house, to settle their political differences.
The news was received as a shock by many.
Kisii county Governor James Ongwae, on his Twitter account, congratulated the two leaders terming them as statesmen.
"Today, our leaders H.E. @UKenyatta and Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga met and agreed on how to move the country forward. That the two leaders mutually agreed to stand down on their hardline positions for the sake of Kenya is a show of statesmanship which is laudable," Ongwae tweeted.
The people of Kisii received the news positively while others condemned Raila terming him 'coward'.
"The two leaders have showed their great patriotism in their leadership. We urge other leaders to follow suite," said Bruno Osoro.
"Raila has the best political game ever. He has considered the people of Kenya and noted that they are greater than him," said Winne Moraa.
