Kisii Governor James Ongwae has confirmed that his county is prepared to host the sixth edition of KICOSCA Games which are slated to kick off from August 12-18 at the Gusii Stadium.
Mr. Ongwae speaking on Thursday during a breakfast meeting with various stakeholders said that it is a privilege for the county in hosting the games.
"The competition will provide an opportunity for the county to showcase its heritage," said Ongwae.
The county boss called upon the local organizing committee to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure the event is a success. The committee is chaired by his deputy Joash Maangi.
On his part, Maangi Maangi, on his part, appealed to the business community and other stakeholders to support the event financially and through other forms of sponsorship.
Geoffrey Kigochi, the County Commissioner who also attended the event assured the security will be beefed up during the events.
Expected to pitch camp in Kisii town and its environs during the event are about 10,000 participants from all the 47 counties.
