Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has assured ODM party leader Raila Odinga that he is still popular in Kisii region.
Ongwae said Raila’s support in Kisii region is indisputable.
“Kisii constituents are behind you. Those spreading propaganda that your fame has dropped in Kisii region are misleading members of the public with an aim to remain politically relevant,” said Ongwae.
Ongwae lauded Raila’s decision to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta to end the prolonged political stalemate in the country.
“I am happy that you (Raila) agreed to meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta for the sake of peace in the country. The hand shake you had with Uhuru clearly showed how true you love this nation,” he added.
Ongwae called on elected leaders across the county to focus on quality service delivery to the electorates and shun divisive politics which will derail development.
The governor was speaking on Friday at Kisii town.
